Phong Nha Explorer is an independent travel guide created to help travellers understand and plan a caving and adventure trip to Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park in Vietnam. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representing Oxalis Adventure or any tour operator, and we do not sell tours or take bookings.
Our aim is to provide honest, practical information about the caves and tours of the region — what each experience actually involves, how difficult it is, when to go and how to prepare — written in plain language, without marketing hype or invented superlatives.
How We Work
We describe the tours and caves as clearly and accurately as we can, including their physical demands and trade-offs. Because prices, dates, permits and availability change frequently and are set by the operators, we deliberately do not publish them. Instead, we always point you to confirm current details directly with the licensed operator before you plan or book.
We do not use fake reviews, fabricated ratings or clichéd filler. Where we describe a cave or a tour, we base it on publicly available information about the region and its adventures.
Our Independence
Being independent means we can be candid — about how demanding a trip is, whether a gentler alternative might suit you better, or why a tour only runs in certain months. We have no commercial relationship with the operators whose tours we describe, and we do not earn commission on bookings.
